NMDVR PRESS RELEASE
When the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (NMDVR) hosts its Rapid Hire event on Wednesday, April 27, it will be the first state agency event to be 100% virtual. Job applicants from all over New Mexico — and the country — can attend on their cell phone, tablet, or computer from the comfort of their own home or anywhere else.
“We’re trying to reach a broader potential audience of qualified candidates,” says Tina Tawater, NMDVR’s director of human resources and risk management. “Not everyone has the opportunity to go to Santa Fe or Albuquerque. Especially in some of the smaller towns, it will really open up those markets to different candidates.”
The NMDVR will seek to fill 15 to 20 jobs in its state offices, including vocational rehabilitation counsellors, finance and information technology positions, and an executive assistant. Job applicants should visit dvr.cynaptx.com/external/careerfair/260 in advance to upload their resume, references, and transcript (depending on the position) and schedule an interview time.
The one-day event will use a software platform provided by Cynaptx/Empyra, where candidates will enter a virtual lobby and then meet their recruiter in private “interview rooms”.
“We’re thinking outside the box, to see if the virtual platform helps recruit and reach our target audience,” Tawater says, noting that the virtual event is likely to save resources related to travel costs for candidates and candidates. recruiters.
And, although the agency currently has its lowest vacancy rate in years, there are still vacancies. “We still have customers who need to be seen. Filling these positions will take some of the burden off current employees and help us become fully capable of providing these services to New Mexicans,” adds Tawater.
